INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A Marion County adult is dead as a result of the coronavirus. The Indiana Department of Health announced the patient had been hospitalized and was over the age of 60.
This is now the third person to die from the disease in Indiana. ISDH reported 23 new cases as of Friday, Mar. 20 bringing the number to 79 Hoosiers diagnosed through ISDH.
Statement from Indiana Department of Health: “Losing a loved one is devastating, and it’s troubling to see the toll that COVID-19 is taking on elderly residents here in Indiana and across the country,” said State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG. “I implore Hoosiers to continue to stay home if they’re sick and practice social distancing so that we can halt the spread of this virus and protect the most vulnerable among us.”
