FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — An Illinois woman has been arrested for leading police on a high speed, multi-state chase.
Police said Christina Newell stole a vehicle after she discovered it with the keys still in the ignition in a bank parking lot.
They followed her from Vermillion County, Illinois to Fountain County.
Deputies used stop sticks to stop the vehicle. They say Newell then got out of the vehicle and displayed a handgun.
She surrendered several minutes late.
She faces charges including possession of a handgun without a license and stolen property.
Newell is currently in custody at the Fountain County Jail.
Once Newell has been released from Fountain County, she will still face charges in Vermilion County, IL for forgery, possession of stolen property and aggravated fleeing and eluding police.
