INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Tuesday, December 1, that 5,518 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to ISDH, 344,373 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of 5,598 people have died from the virus, an increase of 142. New deaths were reported in the following counties:

- Cass - 1 (total 32)
- Clinton - (1 total 23)
- Newton - (1 total 13)
- Pulaski - 2 (total 21)
- Tippecanoe - 3 (total 33)
- White - 1 (total 24)
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton (17), Carroll (19), Cass (43), Clinton (48), Fountain (20), Fulton (20), Howard (76), Jasper (34), Miami (17), Montgomery (62), Newton (15), Pulaski (20), Tippecanoe (195), Warren (2), and White (35).
Currently, Newton County is still in the red. All other counties in the WLFI viewing area are orange. Click here to read more about what restrictions are in place based on their designated color zones.

Purdue University’s COVID Dashboard reports that 83,259 total tests given since August 1. There have been 3,320 total diagnosed cases. 365 student cases and 69 employee cases are considered active.
A note on the Purdue page says the university will not update the dashboard when it is closed, specifically during the winter recess from December 21st through January 1st.
