INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Sunday, January 3, that 3,002 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to ISDH, 526,071 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of 8,111 people have died from the virus, an increase of 56. New deaths were reported in the following local counties:
Cass – 1
Fountain – 1
Howard – 2
Miami – 1
Tippecanoe – 1
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton (1), Carroll (7), Cass (26), Clinton (23), Fountain (6), Fulton (2), Howard (31), Jasper (11), Miami (6), Montgomery (11), Newton (3), Pulaski (4), Tippecanoe (67), Warren (7), and White (18).
Currently, Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Jasper, Miami, Montgomery, Pulaski, Warren, and White Counties are in the red. All other counties in the WLFI viewing area are orange. Click here to read more about what restrictions are in place based on their designated color zones.

Purdue University’s COVID Dashboard says the university will not update the dashboard when it is closed, specifically during the winter recess from December 21st through January 1st. It will also not be updated on weekends through January 3rd.
According to the Indiana COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, 75,842 people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
