INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Friday, January 15 that 4,744 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to ISDH, 583,160 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of 8,872 people have died from the virus, an increase of 42. New deaths were reported in the following local counties
- Clinton-1 (total 39)
- Howard-1 (total 137)
- Montgomery-1 (total 51)
- Tippecanoe-2 (total 116)
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton (10), Carroll (4), Cass (31), Clinton (20), Fountain (11), Fulton (11), Howard (77), Jasper (33), Miami (19), Montgomery (24), Newton (6), Pulaski (6), Tippecanoe (163), Warren (7), and White (20).

Purdue University’s COVID Dashboard reports 157 active cases with 102 being students and 55 being employees. It has reported 4,122 total cases since it started reporting on August 1. 103,205 total tests have been given on campus.
According to the Indiana COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, 238,802 people have received the first dose of the vaccine. 48,437 have received the second dose and are fully vaccinated.
