INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Saturday that 855 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Indiana. This is the first time the state has had more than 800 daily positive cases since May 5th.
According to ISDH, 55,654 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of 2,627 people have died from the virus, an increase of 17. One of those deaths is from Howard County, bringing its death total to 59 people.
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton, (2), Carroll (1), Cass (2), Clinton (1), Fulton (2), Howard (13), Jasper (8), Miami (2), Montgomery (2), Tippecanoe (26), and White (5).
A total of 614,455 people have been tested. The intensive care unit and ventilator capacity remain steady. As of today, nearly 35 percent of ICU beds and nearly 83 percent of ventilators are available.
