INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Tuesday, December 8, that 5,457 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to ISDH, 392,663 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of, 6,109 people have died from the virus, an increase of 124. New deaths were reported in the following counties:

- Cass - 2 (total 34)
- Clinton - 2 (total 27)
- Fountain - 1 (total 11)
- Fulton - 1 (total 21)
- Howard - 2 (total 84)
- Jasper - 1 (total 18)
- Miami - 1 (total 21)
- Montgomery - 1 (total 31)
- Pulaski - 2 (total 23)
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton (17), Carroll (21), Cass (20), Clinton (40), Fountain (21), Fulton (8), Howard (91), Jasper (24), Miami (16), Montgomery (48), Newton (4), Pulaski (10), Tippecanoe (203), Warren (2), and White (34).

Purdue University’s COVID Dashboard reports that 85,789 total tests given since August 1. There have been 3,540 total diagnosed cases. 181 student cases and 76 employee cases are considered active.
A note on the Purdue page says the university will not update the dashboard when it is closed, specifically during the winter recess from December 21st through January 1st.
