INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced Wednesday, December 23, that 4,731 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to ISDH, 476,538 people in Indiana have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. A total of 7,306 people have died from the virus, an increase of 62. New deaths were reported in the following counties:
Benton - 1 (total 7)
Howard - 2 (total 109)
Pulaski - 1 (total 31)
Tippecanoe - 1 (total 69)
In the WLFI viewing area, new cases were reported in Benton (8), Carroll (17), Cass (34), Clinton (15), Fountain (20), Fulton (26), Howard (105), Jasper (15), Miami (24), Montgomery (36), Newton (9), Pulaski (10), Tippecanoe (122), Warren (7), and White (22).
Currently, Benton, Carroll, Fountain, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Pulaski, and Warren county are in the red. All other counties in the WLFI viewing area are orange. Click here to read more about what restrictions are in place based on their designated color zones.

Purdue University’s COVID Dashboard reports that 89,870 total tests given since August 1. There have been 3,793 total diagnosed cases. 138 student cases and 99 employee cases are considered active.
A note on the Purdue page says the university will not update the dashboard when it is closed, specifically during the winter recess from December 21st through January 1st. It will also not be updated on weekends through January 3rd.
