TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—You may remember News 18 reporting on Gayle Kamp for Operation Treat A Nurse, an effort Kamp started back in April after having a conversation with her friend who works for Franciscan Health.
"I just kind of thought, did she need me to bring her anything, so I was just going to bring her a treat and she said no, she was ok, but maybe her unit could use a treat and I thought you know what I can do one better than that," said Kamp.

Kamp started by delivering baked goods however as COVID-19 worsened and visitor restrictions tightened for hospitals, Gayle wasn't able to bring in homemade treats anymore, that didn't stop her though.
With donations from the community Gayle has been providing food for health-care workers at Franciscan health for more than six months.
"I'm doing it because I want to do it, I like to help people and I try to help where ever I can. I may take charge of it and I might lead the group but I found the people to help me like Arni's and Subway," said Kamp.
and she has been doing that,
"I just think it's something we should do, you know this country's a mess and we need to do something to help each other."
- in a way that not only keeps frontline workers' hearts full but their bellies too.
