LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Diane Bahler was in her kitchen around midnight when a car crashed into her house on January 13. The car struck just one room over.
"It sounded like there was an explosion," Bahler said.

"It was almost like slow motion. I think I just went into shock and things in the kitchen wall just started flying towards me."
The driver was Zachary Trent, 35, who fled the scene and was later arrested. Police were quickly on hand, as well as the fire department. Bahler's daughter, Gwyne, was there to help arrange what to do next.
"As soon as I called she came and she already had somebody lined up to board up the house," Bahler said.
Bahler has received countless messages from friends and family asking to help.
"I've just been overwhelmed by the number of people that have contacted me, offered me a place to stay, offered me help," Bahler said.
