Fire rips through Battle Ground home

Firefighters spent the early morning hours Monday putting out a fire at a home on Main Street in Battle Ground.

BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) — Firefighters spent the early morning hours Monday putting out a fire at a home on Main Street in Battle Ground.

The fire was reported around 12:45 a.m. According to Steve Baker, the public information officer for the Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department, every person inside the home made it out safe. One dog and three cats were also able to make it out of the home.

Firefighters said flames were about 20 feet in the air at one point.

The Red Cross has been called in to help the people who live in the home. It is unknown what caused of the fire.

The home is likely a total loss.
