LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Five Greater Lafayette area athletes advanced to the state finals following top three finishes at the girls track Lafayette Jefferson regional finals on Tuesday night at Scheumann Stadium.
Harrison's Jaylie Lohmeyer and Nakia Harris placed first in the 400 meter dash and shot put, respectively. Lohmeyer clocked a 57.81, almost one complete second faster than Brownsburg's Jordan Griffin. Harris threw a 41-10.25 to claim regional hardware.
Harrison's Jada-Marie Davis finished third in the 300 meter hurdles, just 1.35 seconds in front of her teammate, Victoria Ford.
Benton Central's Tressa Senesac placed third in the 100 meter hurdles, with a time of 15.31.
McCutcheon's Ikeava Bryant finished third in shot put, throwing 40-01.50
Bryant, Davis, Harris, Lohmeyer, and Senesac will compete in the State Finals on June 5 at Ben Davis high school.
Harrison is the only Greater Lafayette area team to finish in the top 10 as a team, with a 50 point, 6th place performance.
