ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) — Harrison Steel in Attica has also closed as a result of the pandemic. According to Fountain-Warren Health Officer Doctor Sean Sharma, the company closed to all but essential workers Wednesday night. Doctor Sharma said the Health Department started noticing an increase in cases about ten days ago. He worked with Harrison Steel's owners to recommend a suspension of production.
Sharma says there are "approximately ten cases" of coronavirus associated with the plant, including employees and people identified in contact tracing.
Harrison notified employees yesterday that the shutdown will last through May 4.
The company will pay full and part-time employees during the shutdown.
