SPRINGFIELD, MO. (WLFI) — A man originally from the Greater Lafayette area is dead after a shooting and crash in Springfield, Missouri.
Shannon Perkins, 46, was one of four people killed in an attack at a gas station Monday night.
Police said the attacker had been firing shots out his window as he drove down a street. He crashed into a gas station and started firing at customers and employees. A clerk, two customers including Perkins, and a responding police officer were killed. Police said the driver then turned the gun on himself.
Investigators don't have a motive. Perkins was living in Springfield, but still has family in the Lafayette area.
