WLFI Viewing Area—The Greater Lafayette Region has launched a new regional economic development plan.
The plan lays out goals for growing population and workforce, as well as creating new quality-of-life amenities. It's a part of the State of Indiana's READI program.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation will provide up to $50 Million to 10 regions around the state, enabling them to execute on their plans. Greater Lafayette Commerce President and C-E-O Scott Walker said it's just what Tippecanoe and surrounding counties need to move forward.
"We put together a region of six counties," said Walker. "Tippecanoe County, Carroll County, White County, Benton County, Warren & Fountain County. We interviewed a lot of leaders in all of our communities that we came up with this strategy that you see in the regional development plan."
