GREATER LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Domino's is offering free pizza for students during this extended spring break. The local franchise owners say it's to help families who depend on free and reduced lunches from school.
The first 25 students can get a free small, one-topping pizza. The offer is available at all the Greater Lafayette locations. Parents or students can call-in or order online and pick up the pizza through the drive-through or carry-out.
Domino's Franchisee Jeff Stegen says he and his business partner felt it was important to step up during these uncertain times.
“We kind of wondered what the kids are going to do, a lot of the parents rely on that so we came up with doing a small one-topping until schools come back to help them out,” said Stegen.
He said it’s important the community comes together as food security is at stake.
“We feel bad for some situations out there,” said Stegen. “People are going to be out of jobs and so on and then to have their kids not in school now — we wanted to think of something, whatever we could do to help the community.”
