FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) — Firefighters in Frankfort are going shopping to help spread some holiday cheer.

Firefighters from different shifts will take a family shopping all this week. The families will get to take home toys, clothes and food from Walmart.

The department partners with the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club.

News 18 caught up with one group Tuesday evening before they went to the store. The family got to eat pizza with the firefighters and take a tour of the fire station.

The firefighters said it's all about seeing the smiles.

"I'm a father of three, so being able to have kids happy at this time of year is something that's very nice," firefighter Russell Sheets said.

Pork burgers sold at the Frankfort Hot Dog Festival help make the shopping trips possible.

Two more shifts will take two more families shopping Wednesday and Thursday.
