TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) -- Tippecanoe County is adding a new member to its council.
After four ballots, during a virtual caucus, Republican Jody Hamilton was chosen to take the seat.
It was previously held by the late Brian Metzger.
Hamilton served as VP of Economic and Workforce Development at Greater Lafayette commerce for several years.
She now works for TIpmont REMC and Wintek.
Hamilton said she is eager to get started and help the community.
"I'm really excited about getting in and really seeing how it all works and how they all work so well as a team to make the things happen," said Hamilton.
To win the caucus Hamilton had to collect 50% or more of the votes.
It is an at-large seat and Hamilton will serve the remainder of Metger's term through the end of the year.
