LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Despite a rainy night, the first Gallery Walk of the season took place Friday night in downtown Lafayette.
Galleries had artwork from local artists on display. There was live music along Main Street and local shops stayed open.
The event is put on by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation.
It's all free and open to the public.
Anita Krug, a fiber artist, said it's the perfect time to show off the local arts and everything else downtown has to offer.
"Lots of people come out and they want to see what's going on. They want to see the flowers that are starting to bloom downtown, come see their neighbors that they haven't seen all winter. So, we usually have big crowds in May," said Krug.
Gallery Walks will happen on the 3rd Friday of May, July and September. They will run from 6 to 9 p.m.
