Here is the latest....

Light freezing rain & freezing drizzle is occurring over a good chunk of the area.  However, snow is still falling over Newton, Jasper & Pulaski counties as of 12:30 a.m.

Reports are of 1-3" from northern Tippecanoe & Warren to Carroll to Miami counties & northward.  Less has occurred south of that area with mostly ice accumulating.  Sleet is reportedly covering much of the grass in Frankfort.  Trees a glistening in the glaze ice reportedly in Crawfordsville.

With our 0.9" of snow, sleet & ice here at WLFI ob site, there is a thin coating of glaze ice on the trees, & all surfaces.

Highest totals of 3" are coming out of northern Newton, Jasper, Fulton & Miami counties.  Up to 4.3" has been reported in Lake County, Indiana.

Projection now to Thursday late afternoon (periods of light freezing rain, freezing drizzle, some light sleet & snow to periods of snow with continued blustery conditions):

Atop the snow & ice we have already seen as of 12:30 a.m., another 1-2" snow is possible tomorrow-tomorrow night.

As it falls atop a layer of ice in the area, it may blow & drift about some.

Snow showers are possible Saturday.  1" or less looks possible.

A narrow corridor of 1-2" could occur, but it looks to be south & southeast of our viewing area.

Period of snow/ice followed by some rain is possible Sunday-Sunday night to early Monday.

Some very minor brief snow/ice accumulation is possible before going to some cold rain.

Brief freezing rain, then all rain is likely Wednesday with temperatures warming to 40-45.  Some data is more aggressive keeping it more in the way of ice for a long or even entire duration of the storm system.  I am not going with that right now.  I began to deviate from a more icy & snowy scenario with it a couple of days ago.  We will monitor for changes, however.
