Minor blowing & drifting snow will continue today-tonight, but any periodic snow in the north will end.
Winter Weather Advisory is up for much of the area (Chicago NWS office has not put one out yet for Benton, Newton, Jasper) & Winter Storm Watch continues for Montgomery County.
One wave of snow will occur Sunday-Monday AM & then another later Monday-Tuesday AM.
This will add up to a total of 4-6" FROM BOTH WAVES for the viewing area. 6-8" (isolated +8") is possible in the far south & southeast near & within the Winter Storm Watch area (near Attica to Lafayette to Peru line).
Highest amounts should occur south & southeast of the viewing area over southern & southeastern Indiana to Ohio.
Tweaks are still possible to this forecast, so stay tuned.
Gusty northeast winds 20-35 mph will create blowing & drifting issues Sunday-Tuesday.
The good news is that the snow will not fall all at once....it will be in two rounds, giving us a window to get a handle on roads a bit Monday afternoon before more snowfall moves back in. It should all wind down by midday Tuesday with final snowfall totals.
This, after clearing & lows near 0 to 9 tonight with wind chills to as low as -20. Wind Chill Advisory is up for much of the viewing area.
After a break, it appears snow, ice & even a bit of rain in the southeast is possible Thursday with gusty winds.
