All of the snow late lastnight to today has been north of US 24 with little/no south of there.  Up to 2" has fallen in northern Newton & Jasper counties.

Snow over the past two hours has continued to be in the far north & is sitting over central Illinois with a lack of movement eastward.

Expected for this afternoon-evening:

From here on out, looks like local dustings & coatings.  Up to an additional 0.5" may fall along the Kankakee River.

Final totals will run 1-3" far north with much less than 1" elsewhere.

With some clearing, lows tonight will run near 0 to 9 with coldest temperatures in our western counties.  Wind Chill Advisory is up for areas along & west of US 231 & IN 43 for wind chills to as low as -20.

Widespread steady snow with strong northeast winds 20-30mph will occur Sunday evening-Monday morning.

Blowing & drifting will occur.

4-6" is expected with this first wave of snow.

Snow tapers Monday afternoon, then new wave of some snow comes in Monday evening-night to early Tuesday.  That wave does not look as heavy as the first.

Northeast winds look strong at 20-30 mph.

Blowing & drifting will occur.

1-2" snowfall is expected from this second wave of snow.

A total of 4-8" is expected area-wide (a few isolated +8" amounts in the far south & southeast).

Snow & ice is expected Thursday (even some rain briefly in far south & southeast) with gusty winds.

Ice & snow accumulation is expected, but amounts are unclear.

Next thing to watch is big thaw & melt-down & rainfall.  Rainfall looks likely in the February 25-28 time frame with strong southwest to south winds.
