FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) — Plans are in the works for a major expansion at Frito-Lay in Frankfort, according to Mayor Chris McBarnes.
The $159 million investment will lead to 50 new jobs. The company plans to expand warehouse space by another 210,000 square feet and will add two new production lines.
Due to the positive impact on the economy, city leaders have proposed a tax abatement for the project. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has also offered Frito-Lay up to $550,000 dollars in conditional tax credits.
