TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLF) — Former Wabash Township Fire Chief Ed Ward is suing Trustee Jennifer Teising, arguing his firing was retaliatory after he raised concerns about Teising's residency.
As News 18 previously reported, Teising faced outrage when she fired Ward in December and laid off the township's three paid firefighters in June.
Ward is also suing for defamation, saying Teising claimed he hacked into her phone and broke into her office. He also alleges she spread lies about his conduct toward women.
Ward wants his job back and compensation for damages as part of the suit.
As News 18 previously reported, another former firefighter, Joseph Wade, sued Teising last week on the grounds that the layoffs were a breach of contract.
As News 18 previously reported, Teising faces 21 felony theft charges and is accused of living outside the township for nearly a year while collecting a township salary.
News 18 reached out Teising and the township attorney but didn't hear back.
