WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — An Elkhart man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly committed multiple burglaries in West Lafayette. According to police, the crimes happened at apartments located at 1225 West State Street.
Authorities say 21-year-old Oliver Bwalya stole many items including a credit card, textbooks, laptops, video game consoles and even a handgun. The series of alleged crimes happened from October of 2019 to January of 2020.
When officers spoke with Bwalya, Bwalya allegedly said he was part of a group that would burglarize apartments, then later sell the stolen items.
Bwalya's charges include Corrupt Business Influence, burglary, theft, and theft of a firearm.
