COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLFI) — The eighth seeded Men of Mackey have a clear look at their round one opponent in this summer's TBT basketball tournament.

The 8-9 seed game in the Columbus regional will feature Purdue's alumni squad and the ninth seeded "Ballinteers," a group of Tennessee alumni. The game is slated for July 23rd at 7:00pm at Ohio State's Covelli Center. The game will be played with no fan capacity restrictions. Tickets can be found HERE.

The Men of Mackey are coached by former Purdue guard Ryne Smith. This year's roster is comprised of Purdue basketball legend Robbie Hummel, Lewis Jackson, Isaac Haas, and AJ Hammons among other notable alumni. The full roster can be found HERE.

The Ballinteers did not compete in 2020, after COVID-19 protocols eliminated the team before the annual tournament began.

The winner of this matchup will play the winner of the first-seeded Carmen's Crew (Ohio State alumni) and sixteenth-seeded Mid American Unity (various Ohio-based college basketball alumni) in the second round.
