TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Plans are moving forward for a new subdivision in Tippecanoe County.
It's planned to go on 32 acres on the east side of Concord Road just south of Veterans Memorial Parkway.
County commissioners approved rezoning the property Monday, and that allows for the construction of duplex homes.
Single-family homes would also be allowed.
Area Plan Commission Assistant Director Ryan O'Gara said projects like this allow a more affordable way to become a homeowner.
"Duplexes are sort of that, literally, that middle type of unit that can be affordable to a lot more people that maybe can't quite get into a single-family situation, but yet they're done with renting a multi-family apartment," he said.
O'Gara said the developer hasn't submitted a site plan for the project yet.
Once that is done, the county will know the number of homes going into the subdivision.
