WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - West Lafayette's newest park is one step closer to becoming a reality. The city is working to finalize their designs for the first two phases of construction for Cason Family Park.
According to Director of Development Erin Easter, the city has budgeted around $2.4 million for the project's first phase. It will feature multiple playgrounds, trails and public facilities.
Phase two would include a water feature, three shelters and additional trails.
Easter said the park will provide additional space for outdoor activities as West Lafayette continues to grow.
"We're really excited to be able to continue those park amenities that the rest of the community enjoys for all of the residents in both West Lafayette proper and the near west-side," said Easter.
Easter said the city would like to begin construction in the spring of 2021. Completion is planned for 2022.
