WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Purdue Sports) — Purdue wide receiver David Bell has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for a school-record-tying fourth time this season. The weekly recognition is the eighth overall for a Boilermaker in 2019.
Bell caught 12 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown at Wisconsin last week. It was his fifth contest with 100 or more yards and his third double-digit reception game of the year. Bell enters the final week of the season leading the Big Ten with 77 receptions and third in the conference with 899 yards receiving.
Bell tied Rondale Moore's school record for Freshman of the Week honors, set last season.
