INDIANAPOLIS (WLFI) — The state of Indiana's premier college hoops event will come to a close after the coming college basketball season.
2021 will be the swan song for the current edition of the Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Purdue Athletics released the following statement to Sports 18:
"The current format of the Crossroads Classic will end after the 2021 edition of the event. Purdue Athletics and its men's basketball program will continue to look for unique opportunities to partner with Bankers Life Fieldhouse to bring the Boilermakers to Indianapolis on a regular basis."
The four team event has featured Notre Dame, Butler, Indiana and Purdue every year since 2011. The Boilermakers have a (3-7) record in the two-game exhibition. Most recently, Purdue topped Notre Dame, 88-78.
The Gold and Black are slated to play Butler in the finale of the event on December 18th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
