WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A woman is dead in an early morning mobile home fire in West Lafayette, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a unit caught fire around 4:30 a.m. at 52 Mobile Home Estates. That is near the intersection of Sagamore Parkway and U.S. 231.

Lt. Travis Dowell said 19-year-old Margaret Woods died in the fire. He says she was in the home with her boyfriend, Christopher Davies.

Dowell said Davies was injured and taken to an Indianapolis hospital.

Deputies do not suspect criminal activity at this time. He said they have reason to believe multiple space heaters were being used in the home.

Crews had some issues with a fire hydrant freezing, but they were able to get it thawed.

Investigators say they believe multiple space heaters were in use when a fatal fire started in this West Lafayette mobile home Wednesday morning. @MorningTeam18 @WLFI pic.twitter.com/8KChK1QXcN
