TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—Thanks to a community collaboration people experiencing homelessness will not go without during this time. Several organizations have created a temporary day annex. The Annex was created after the county health ordered LTHC and LUM to stop accepting new clients due to COVID-19.
It's named LTHC-LUM Annex and was closed once both organizations could accept clients again. However, it remains available but in a new location. The annex was located near the YWCA. United Way CEO, Michael Budd said the annex will be an as needed resource.
"We had to come up with a temporary solution to that problem so that when people are finding themselves new to homelessness they aren't out without a place to go for this period of time," said Budd.
Budd said Phoenix Paramedic Solutions will staff the annex. LTHC/LUM Annex is provided to continue services needed if current available services at LTHC/LUM have to close. People need to visit either LTHC or LUM for a referral to the temporary annex.
