TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—One local woman is celebrating life after overcoming a debilitating illness. For the past five years, 29-year-old Alix Gerringer has been an RN at IU Health Arnett.
Earlier in the year, Gerringer caught Pneumonia which later led to sepsis which resulted in quadruple limb loss by amputation. After more than 4 months in the hospital, 7 surgeries and receiving 35 units of blood, Gerringer is back with her family.
Her coworkers have stepped up and created a series of fundraisers. The money raised will go towards helping Gerringer with medical needs and bills.

At the softball event concessions will be available. There will also be donated items for sale at the event and there will a variety of door prizes.
