LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — CityBus has announced passengers will be able to ride free starting Friday, March 27. According to a press release, this will continue as long as Governor Eric Holcomb’s COVID-19 Stay-At-Home Executive Order (20-08) is in effect.
The fare-free initiative will help limit contact between bus operators and riders and also reducing the financial burden on riders who must still travel to work and other essential places.
Currently, the CityBus administrative offices and the CityBus Center will close to the public until further notice.
For riders that may have questions, a customer service line will remain open. CityBus stated it will reduce customer service availability on Monday, March 30.
The customer service line (765-742-RIDE) hours will be:
● Monday - Friday: 7am - 6:40pm
● Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 5:45pm
