WINAMAC, Ind. (WLFI) — Clark Barrett overcame two early interceptions to lead Central Catholic to its second straight regional championship Friday night.
Winamac's Russell Compton intercepted Barrett twice in the first quarter, one returned for a touchdown, to give the Warriors a 12-0 lead.
The Knights offense, lead by Barrett, found its rythym from there. The junior connected with Owen Munn on a pair of touchdown passes in the first half to give the Knights a 23-19 lead before the break.
Central Catholic added 14 second half points on scoring plays to Ty Buche and a Barrett scamper. The Knights held off Winamac 37-32.
Barrett set a Central Catholic single game record for passing yards with 484. Munn set a single game receiving record with 222 yards.
Central Catholic will play South Adams for a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium next Friday (11-20).
