CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Camp Tecumseh in Carroll County announced Thursday that in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic it is in the camper's best interest not to hold 2020 summer programs. Camp Tecumseh would normally see thousands of kids over the course of the Summer in their day camps and overnight camps.
CEO Scott Brosman said in a video that in the camp's nearly one-hundred-year history there has never been a summer camp cancellation.
“At Camp Tecumseh, we endeavor to run the safest possible camp program that we can. Due to the lack of testing, and the continued spread of the virus, we cannot operate under that assumption at this time,” remarked Scott Brosman, CEO of Camp Tecumseh YMCA.
Camp Tecumseh YMCA is offering several options for refunds, and priority registration for summer 2021 for those that were signed up for this summer. You can learn more about their decision and their refund options at www.camptecumseh.org.
But even with the closure, Brosman said camp and campers will be okay.
