TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Recent blizzard-like conditions mean big business for snow plow drivers.
News 18 checked back with a snow removal business owner to see how things are going after business dried up in January.
"It has been very busy and very good," says Joe Weaver, owner of Redlawns Lawn Care and Landscaping.
Weaver was out Thursday morning clearing the lots of a local banking chain.
Last month he was hard pressed to find work. But the past few weeks have been different.
"Within the last month, we've pushed at least 16 inches of snow, probably more close to 20 ... On the first six-inch snow we ran for like 32 hours, on this one here, we're still going. We're probably pushing about 38 on this one," he says.
Weaver's made about as much money in the past weeks as he would an entire winter. But he's been so busy he says he's ready for warmer weather.
"I hope we don't get any more snow, I think we've had enough ... I think everybody's pretty much done with it for the year," he says. "We are ready for mowing weather."
Weaver says he plans to expand his company after the boom in business.
