Burglary suspect charged in pharmacy break in

A Lafayette man was charged Wednesday in connection with the December break-in or a Walgreens Pharmacy on South Street.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette man was charged Wednesday in connection with the December break-in or a Walgreens Pharmacy on South Street. Casey Hollingsworth was charged with the following:

Burglary (Level 5 felony)

Theft (Level 6 Felony)

Dealing in a Narcotic Drug (Level 2 Felony)

Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Level 3 Felony)

Dealing in a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Level 3 Felony)

Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)

According to documents, on December 15 officers responded to a burglar alarm at Walgreens Pharmacy on South Street in Lafayette. Police observed a vehicle idling next to a large metal door that had been forced open with a scissor jack. After securing the area, police spotted Hollingsworth carrying plastic bins holding many pill bottles. He was taken into custody.
