Body found inside Lafayette home after fire

A person is dead and another found stabbed after a Sunday morning fire in Lafayette, according to police.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A person is dead and another found stabbed after a Sunday morning fire in Lafayette, according to police. 

Around 6:10 a.m. Lafayette police received a call that a man had been stabbed in the 800 Block of South 31st Street. The caller was the person who was stabbed, he also told police that the home was on fire.

According to Lafayette police, the Lafayette Fire Department found a person dead inside the home upon arrival. The man who called police was taken to the hospital and is undergoing treatment for his stab wound.

Lafayette police are investigating.
