LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Two business owners accused of racketeering say police raids and seizures in March were unconstitutional. And they're demanding a jury trial.
As News 18 previously reported, Fran and Menashi Cohen are defendants in a lawsuit filed by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office.
They're accused of money laundering, theft, forgery and perjury at their former businesses, Deal Zone and Treasure on Pallets.
Police in March seized inventory, receipts, invoices and cash as part of a long-term investigation into the Cohens.
In recently filed court documents, the Cohens argued the seizures were unlawful and requested the cash and property be returned.
They also requested a court judgment to compensate them for damages and attorney fees.
News 18 reached out to their attorneys but didn't hear back.
