LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Jeff sharpshooter Avery Beaver will play his college basketball at nearby Wabash College next season.

The southpaw guard averaged just over 18 points per game this past season for Mark Barnhizer's Bronchos. He helped lead Jeff to 21 total wins, the program's most since the 2007-2008 campaign.

The Wabash basketball program finished the 2019-2020 season with a 17-9 overall record, including a 13-5 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference, but Beaver chose the Little Giants for more than future success on the basketball court.

"I know the ball is going to stop bouncing for me at some point," said Beaver.

"Wabash, I felt like had the best opportunities for my future, with the alumni network there and the education it will provide me. Also it's a great basketball program so I thought, I am going to go play for a great basketball program and get a great education."
