It was cooler today (but still muggy) with clouds & increasing rainfall, especially in the afternoon to evening.
Scattered showers & storms off & on will be the story for Thursday with some sun appearing with the clouds bubbling up. Highs will run near 80 to the lower 80s with muggy conditions. Dew points will be tropical reaching at 72-75.
Friday's feature is interesting. This vigorous, but tightly-packed upper low may bring some severe weather to central Illinois Thursday night before weakening as it moves our way.
On Friday, with our highs reaching low to mid 80s with high humidity & some sun, scattered storms will pop. An isolated severe storm or two cannot be ruled out given the shear, the rather cold temperatures aloft with the heating & the humid, unstable airmass.
However, there is a window for a fairly vigorous severe weather episode along & south of I-70 southward through southern Indiana to northern Kentucky with supercells, supercell clusters & bows. These are ENHANCED RISK sort of parameters showing up.
As for us it is more MARGINAL RISK with SLIGHT RISK perhaps up to far southern Montgomery County. We will monitor & await the Storm Prediction Center's official forecast.
Total rainfall Wednesday-Friday should average 0.60-1.50" over the viewing area with a few corridors of 2 to +2" amounts.
With patchy fog in the mornings & perhaps accompanied by some patchy very low clouds, afternoon skies should feature cumulus clouds with the sun. Highs will run well into the 80s with lows in the 60s with humid conditions.
Round(s) of showers/storms are likely Monday. Isolated severe storm or two is possible if current projected shear/instability occurs. More robust severe risk may evolve western Kentucky to southeastern MIssouri, western Tennessee to Arkansas.
Some rainfall may linger here to Tuesday morning. Partly cloudy skies & near 80 to the lower 80s should follow with still pretty humid conditions.
Lower humidity should arrive Wednesday & be with us Thursday to Friday. Highs will run in the upper 70s to the 80s with lows in the 50s to the 60s with patchy fog at night.
