ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI)- The Attica Police Chief is currently facing charges of false informing. According to court records from the Fountain County Clerks office, the charges allege that Edward D. Durnil gave false information in an official investigation of a crime knowing said information was false.
The charges allege that he reported false information sometime in December of 2020. Indiana State Police investigated the situation and turned their findings over to a special prosecutor.
We reached out to the prosecutor for more details about the charges but no other information was provided. We also reached out to the Mayor of Attica to see if Chief Durnil has been placed on administrative leave but we did not receive a response.
