LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) — The TASTE of Tippecanoe is celebrating its 40th year, and Arni's has been there for nearly all of them serving oven-baked staples like pizza and breadsticks.
"We always enjoy the event. It's a great cause and I think our customers expect us to be there almost," Brad Cohen, co-owner of Arni's Restaurants, says of the annual fundraiser for Tippecanoe Arts Federation.
"It's important that we continue to support," he continues. "TAF does a great job in our community supporting upwards of 100 organizations in this town so it's fun for us to be there."
It's even more fun this year, Cohen says, coming off of last year's cancellation.
"We had a down year, right? Everybody, mentally, physically, what have you," he says. "The pandemic canceled all these fun things that we did. We're desperately searching for some fun this summer."
So what's on the menu at the Arni's booth?
"Traditional pizza, junior salads, they're always on the menu," Cohen says. "Breadsticks and we always have a couple of samplers. This year we're doing a meatball that we have with our homemade sauce and usually a desert to choose from, as well."
Cohen says it's a chance to try something different.
"Most people surprisingly come to the booth at Arni's looking for the same food they normally get so it's an opportunity to sample something different or try a different flavor of pizza or what have you," he says.
The Arni's booth will be located at the corner of Main and Second streets.
The TASTE of Tippecanoe takes place from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday July 31.
