LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — An argument over a card game between inmates in the Tippecanoe County Jail ended with a stabbing on Friday.
Chief Deputy Terry Ruley says inmates Ian Allen and Jatrell Macon-Clay took the argument into a cell where they were fist-fighting. Macon-Clay left, but came back with a short pencil and stabbed Allen in the face with it.
Allen had a lacerated forehead and injuries to his eye and lower lip and was taken to the hospital. Macon-Clay had swelling in one of his eyes.
On the first of this month, Allen was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for shooting a bicyclist in Lafayette.
Macon-Clay was arrested for stabbing his cousin multiple times three years ago.
