LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Another Republican is entering the race for Judge of Tippecanoe Superior Court 4. Matt Sandy will make a formal announcement of his candidacy on February 20.
Sandy has more than 30 years’ experience in civil and criminal law in Tippecanoe County. He opened his own practice focused on criminal litigation in 2004. He has served as president of the Tippecanoe County Criminal Bar Association and has experience as Judge Pro Tem of all the Tippecanoe County courts, including juvenile, Circuit, and all current Superior courts.
Sandy is a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, Purdue University, and the McKinney School of Law at Indiana University.
Current Tippecanoe Superior 4 Judge Laura Zeman is retiring.
The Republican field of candidates for Superior 4 Judge includes Jonathan Dean and Kimberly Wright. As of February 6, Matthew Boulac is the only Democrat to file for the seat.
The filing deadline ends at noon on Friday, February 7.
