LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)- Art is meant to be shared. In this segment of Always Together Always Local we are Featuring Artists’ Own who strives to share art with the Greater Lafayette Community. Artists’ Own has been part of the community for 20 years.
"We are a fully Artist's Owned cooperative gallery and shop so the owners make the art and then we have it here to sell," said Joanne Titolo the owner of Artists’ Own.
Even though the shop had to close down during quarantine, they still did what they could to service their customers.
"We've had a few people who have had an art emergency so that they needed something right away they know our products they know what we have and artists were able to come in by themselves and meet a customer and supply them with what they needed," said Titolo.
The shop even found a way to bring art to people without them leaving their homes.
"We have a new exhibition up that we opened virtually it is our signature show that sort of highlights our 20 years in business here," said Titolo.
Now the shop is starting to get back to normal.
"We are starting in very slowly because most of us are in sort of a sensitive age group," said Titolo.
Which they say wouldn't have been possible without support from other businesses in the area.
"The downtown community has been really supportive,” added Titolo. “We wouldn't be here for 20 years without the rest of the downtown small businesses or the support of the governmental agencies in town."
Artists' Own is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 to 4 PM. If you have a business’s you'd like to be a feature in our Always Local, Always Together segment send us an email with a suggestion.
