LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Almost Home Humane Society is celebrating 80 years at its Lafayette location.
The non-profit animal shelter was established as the Tippecanoe County Humane Association in 1939. The shelter works with Tippecanoe County Animal Control to house and reconnect stray animals.
Workers at the shelter have dedicated their time and resources to improving the lives of animals and their families.
Roger Ganley became the Executive Director of Almost Home 6 months ago. He said it has been great to watch the shelter fulfill its mission and celebrate this milestone of 80 years.
“There's nothing happier than seeing a family adopt a dog that's been here for a little bit of time to a great new home and it's going to live its life out and both parties are gonna be happy.” Ganley said.
Ganley says the shelter has saved close to 2,000 animals for 2019.
