(WLFI) - Good Wednesday morning!

Today

This morning it is quite windy and temperatures are in the lower 30s region-wide, which is a big difference from yesterday morning. Wind chill values are in the 20s so it does feel cool outside.

The wind is expected to ramp up throughout the day. South wind gusts could reach up to 35-40 mph. We will have sun with high to mid-level clouds in the morning and early afternoon. More heavy cloud cover is likely by tonight. Highs today will be in the mid to lower 50s.

Tonight

Tonight temperatures will remain warm with the rain moving in.

Once the system leaves by noon on Thursday, area-wide we could see around a quarter of an inch of rain.

Thanksgiving Day

Rain will be likely early Thursday morning. The cold front is expected to pass through late morning and early afternoon. This will shift our wind out of the northwest. We could see a few snowflakes by the end of the day Thursday but no impacts to travel and no accumulation will be likely.

(Futurecast at 2:00 AM Thursday morning. Scattered light rain possible.)

(Futurecast at 8:30 AM Thursday morning. Heavy rain will be likely early Saturday morning in Southern Indiana but the rain will be moving out of the WLFI viewing area.)

(Futurecast at 8:00 PM Thursday evening. A few snow flakes could occur throughout our area but lake effect snow bands may be possible with the strong NW wind in northeast Indiana.)

Temperatures on Thursday will be falling all day long. Our high temperatures will occur in the very early morning hours. Once the cold front passes, temperatures will fall and it will be a windy and chilly evening.

Friday

Friday will open up with sunshine and very cool temperatures. Lows Friday morning will be in the lower 20s with wind chill values in the teens. So if you will be out shopping, be sure to bundle up and wear very warm clothing.

All-day Friday, we will be seeing partly sunny conditions with highs only staying in the mid to upper 30s.

The Weekend + 7 Day

Saturday looks to be a partly sunny day with cool conditions. We will have temperatures in the mid to lower 40s.
A few weather models are indicating a quick clipper moving in Saturday night and into Sunday. This will give us a chance for a rain/snow mix.

It is far too early for specific details and timing. A few model runs have indicated mainly snow showers for the night and then a rain/snow mix Sunday during the day.

The Storm Team will keep an eye on this system and give you the latest updates as we get closer and closer to that system moving in Saturday night.
