We are starting off the day with chilly temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s. You will want to give yourself a few minutes to warm-up your vehicles this morning because areas of frost have developed across Greater Lafayette. Also prepare for slick spots during the morning commute! With temperatures below freezing, the flooded areas from the heavy rainfall over the weekend may create ice on the roads.

High pressure over Indiana will provide mostly sunny skies throughout the day. High temperatures will rise into the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is seasonable for this time of year. Lafayette’s average high for today in 49°. This afternoon will also be windy with southwesterly winds between 10-20 MPH. Gusts up to 30 MPH will be possible. The gusty winds will make it feel like it is in the upper 30s and lower 40s later today.

Breezy conditions will continue tonight and tomorrow. The area will remain mostly clear through the overnight period with lows in the mid-30s.

There are going to be some changes coming our way beginning tomorrow. A cold front will travel over the state Tuesday afternoon and bring a slight chance for rain. Otherwise, cloud cover will increase throughout the day with highs in the upper 40s.

Temperatures will begin to drop behind the boundary. Lows tomorrow night will fall back into the mid-20s. Highs in the upper 30s return on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies.
Even though temperatures will be below average, forecast models are indicating dry weather from Wednesday through Friday morning. Holiday travel conditions should be clear on Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Temperatures will rise back into the 40s on Thanksgiving.
